Vinamarine provisionally approves trial of vessel up to 185m night navagation
Vinamarine has received the PA HCMC's letter No.175/CVHHTPHCM-PC dated 15 July 2010 submitting night navigation plan for vessel up to 195m sailling into Sai Gon and VICT port. Vinamarine's opinion on this matter is as follows:
The study of safe night navigation for vessel entering HCMC's seaports is necessary. Vinamarine submmited the letter No.1191/CHHVN-PC dated 04 June 2010 to Ministry of Transport (MOT) reportting on resolving this matter. Until official approval of MOT, Vinamarine provisionally approves trial of night navigation with the following details:
1. PA HCMC is assigned to organize the night navigation trial in/out SG and VICT port for container and LCL cargoes vessels with air draft not exceeding 9.5m and 185m in length. PA HCMC is reponsible for combining with Department of public works transportation, SMSS Co., Pilot Co.-Zone 1, Sai Gon Port Co., Ltd, FLDC and other relevant agencies to establish plan for berthing/unberthing at the aforesaid ports, sailling on specific channel to ensure absolute safety for other ships.
2. SMSS Co. takes reponsibility to check, dredge channel system, renovate drift signal, giving facilities for vessel's night navigation; Pilot Co.-Zone 1 arrange experienced navigator; SG and VICT port are responsible for supporting facilities, manpower meeting requirements of the relating agencies in implementing this trial.
3. Trial duration: from 10 Aug to 30 Nov 2010. After this duration, PA HCMC takes charge to summarize and report result of the trial, this is basis for consideration and approval of authorities.
Pls taking prompt action. Any problems arising in implementation process, pls immediately report to Vinamarine for timely settlement.
